Job hassles but I have nice hair now :)

Had a really good day of eating yesterday with only 18pts of 21 used.

Having a few problems at Bill's work at the moment which has put quite a strain on things. But Bill and I are choosing to look at the bright side of it all. His boss is being a bit of a jerk. We had 2 days off (today and Saturday) planned quite a few weeks ago so that we could go to my school reunion and his boss turned round yesterday and said he couldn't have it off anymore. No reason why, just being a jerk. Bill is still going to try and leave at 5pm so that we can go down tonight for the first part (drinks and mingle) and he will come back to work while me and the kids go to the day event on Saturday on our own. Bit sad that he wont be there with me but not much I can do about it.

Got my hair done last night. Had to laugh at your comment Leigh about losing 100g off my hair. With my thick hair I don't think that would be too hard lol. But I only had it trimmed and layered slightly (giving it more curl). The colour is pretty funky tho ... deep red underneath with blonde streaks through the top. Really happy with the result. Hope to get some photos taken this weekend and will post them up for you when I can.

Couldnt believe my eyes

100g gain for me at weighin last night. A very positive result and I'm happy with that. Was actually quite shocked.

Got the horrid GST returns to do today. I really hate doing accounts but it's gotta be done.

Well done Carol on losing 34 pounds!! That's a fantastic effort! And thankyou to everyone for your kind words of encouragement, it's nice to be back updating daily. I really missed doing my updates and reading others updates last week. I never realised how much of a big part this website and others websites would be in my weightloss journey. Would never be without it now.

I'm off to get my hair done tonight. Wahoo!! Going to the hairdressers is a huge luxury so I'll enjoy my time of pampering.

Not much else to tell today. Did the grocery shopping last night so finally have some good food to eat in the house.

On with a good day of eating and TRACKING!! I'll have my eating on here tomorrow.

a good nights sleep yay!!

Feeling a whole lot better today. Amazing what a good nights sleep does. Quite bloated today so TTOM must be just round the corner. So any gain I have tonight I can blame on that! Goofy

I forgot to tell you guys about my cousin coming over (the one from UK who hasn't seen me in 18mths). When we opened the door she said "Oh my God Woman!!! Shock You've changed a bit since I last saw you!" The look on her face was priceless!! Definately a moment to remember. Hysterical

I have a school reunion to go to this weekend from my primary school days. A bit nervous as I was quite badly teased and I know a lot of the school bullies will be there. But I'm going with my head held high proud of who I am. Getting my hair done (mostly just a colour put through) in a few days so I can look my best.

I haven't been tracking the last week. Don't know why. I think I just want to start over proper after weighin tonight. Get all the bad stuff out of the way and get it all right starting Thursday morning. I don't do very well when I'm out of routine. I am such a routine freak. Everything has a schedule. I just feel out of control otherwise. Stop The Madness I think that's why my eating is so blah this week. Everything was haywire, just everywhere ... no routines anywhere. But short term and I'm back to normal zone again.

I'm definately in for a gain tonight although I don't think it will be quite as bad as I thought earlier in the week. Probably around +500g. I'll be happy with anything under 1kg gain. Just have to wait and see.

Warning!!! Bad vibes below! :)

I'm feeling rather pissed off today. I still haven't finished my job (been working from home now) Over the past 10days I have been designing a 50pg full colour A4 brochure for 'Great Outdoors' who is the same company as 'Fairydown'sleeping bags. Great Outdoors is their tenting, camping gear side of the business. And while it is a fantastic thing to have in my portfolio it is just dragging on soo much. They keep having last minute changes, pulling products and adding others. Incredibly frustrating. Yesterday I did another 17hr day finishing at 3.30am this morning. I really haven't had much sleep the past few weeks and my motivation is suffering because of it. I'm just so pissed off at life today, can't be bothered preparing anything proper to eat, can't be bothered going out to do the grocery shopping (which I desperately need to do). Can't be bothered to do much. Just want to sleep but can't yet with the kids here.

Sorry to be so depressive today. But need to be honest with everyone and myself. Great to see Leigh have another fantastic weighin result!! That certainly boosted my motivation.

I know I'll be fine again once I have some sleep, do some good grocery shopping and get to weigh in find out the bad news so I can start the week with a clean slate.

Glad it's Monday

Monday morning and back to the real world. Probably a good thing especially where my weightloss is concerned. Last week there were so many situations where I just couldn't control what I was eating. Whenever I worked late (which was most nights) work bought us dinner and it was usually takeaways. And we went out on the town Friday night to a Thai restaurant (yummy food but very bad) not to mention the wine (around 7 glasses).

So consequently weighin Wednesday is going to be a shocker. My scales at home are showing around a 1kg gain. No surprise there. Just gotta face the music and get back into it again. Scary to think that weight can come back on so quickly. Really shows that this has to be for life.

But on a good note, I had a ball being a working woman but I'm ready to get back to my old life of being a mum and home. I would like to go back to work eventually but not so many hours (did over 100hrs in 9 days!!).

Gotta be good for me :)

Wow I gotta be proud of myself for yesterday ... only ate 19pts for the day ... drank just under 1ltr water (huge amount for me) and went for a 45min walk (3 bonus points) aaaaand .... did 3hrs of gardening!! 12pts (consisting of weeding our lawn) Totalling 15 bonus points earnt ... wahooo!!

I want an immaculate lawn. The last place we had the lawn never grew because of a big gum tree blocking all the sunlight so this place I am determined to get as gooda lawn as I can. Trouble is the 3 neighbours on each side have Kaikuia (sp) grass which is a curse. It sends runners through both ontop and under the ground. I'm trying my hardest not to let it get through to our lawn but not sure if we will succeed. I'll try my hardest.

Anyway after I finally came inside I was absolutely buggered!! Had dinner then briefly felt like chocolate icecream (low fat version) so told Bill I would bring some up to the bedroom for us both so we could watch the movie in bed eating icecream. By the time I got upstairs I changed my mind ... decided I didn't actually need it or even really want it. (much to Bill's discust lol) But I was very proud of my decision!!

You know the run I mentioned that Bill was doing? Well he is in a cast!! He fell over on his ankle 3kms into the run and kept running on it to the end! (14kms) Then that night it was so swollen and black he couldn't walk on it. So cut a long story short he ended up in Taupo hospital and they took xrays and put him in a cast. They had to send the xrays through to Rotorua to be checked and then up to us in Auckland so consequently we still don't know if it's broken yet or not. Gosh the dramas we go through lol ... anyone would think this diary was a script for a soapy!!

Eating today has been excellent again ... I'm on a roll now ... with only 14pts consumed so far. I'm sure I'll get the rest of them in before I go to bed lol.

Blur of a week

Wow what a whirlwind of a week. Can't believe it's Thursday already. I've done around an 80hr week this week but loving every minute of it!!

I think I've been pretty good eating wise although probably not good enough for a loss. Didn't get to my weigh in on Wednesday just too busy, will have to wait for next week.

Doing this job had definately got me thinking about going back to work. We've had at the back of our minds an idea for a while that I think we will be looking into further now. And that is buying a large dairy or 4square store. One where Bill can have the two youngest at work with him during the day and that leaves me able to go back to work full time. Just have to find the right one with the right price.

Eventually we want to own a supermarket so a nice big 4square will be a good start.

Anyway on with another full on day.

Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy :)

Another 300g bites the dust which I am wrapped about Smilesespecially over easter time and with staying with mum and not being able to control my points (she cooked really high point meals).

I went into meet my new boss today for the job I start next week. It all went really well and I'm looking forward to being a working woman for a few weeks. (not to mention the extra pocket money) Show Me The Money I start working at home for the next 2 days and then go into their Parnell office for the next two weeks. I'm really looking forward to it (did I already say that?) Oh Well

Over my bug again so feeling rather good tonight. Celebrating with a few wines (calculated into my points of course) Cheers 2

On with today :)

Jumped on the scales this morning and it's showing a stay the same. So hopefully fingers crossed this result hangs on till weigh day tomorow night.

Bill did the sweetest thing last night. Heart Beat He was supposed to be working late (till around 11pm) and I was just dishing up dinner for Jese, really not knowing what I could feed him (still need to do the shopping so not much food in the cupboards). Was standing there scratching my head and just thinking I wanted to curl up in bed, Sneezy when he walked in the door (at 5pm) armed with dinner for Jese, and dinner for us. He told everyone at work his wife was sick so he needed to come home early to look after me ... awww he is so sweet!! In Love

He told me to go sit infront of the tele while he fed Jese and dished up our dinner (It was a pretty high point meal - roast chicken and potato salad, but I really didn't care at that point lol). Then after dinner he ran me a hot bath so I could soak and clear my head while he put Jese to bed. SoakingThen he dished me up some lite icecream and Nanna's Waffles while we watch Shortland Street and NZ Idol and then he put me to bed.

Then this morning he was supposed to be starting at 6am Alarm Clock 2 but stayed at home till 8am to make sure I was okay before he went to work. Then he's doing the shopping today and will be home at 4pm to cook dinner.

I'm feeling so much better with a good nights sleep. Nothing like your own bed after not sleeping well for so many nights. My headache is gone and my sinuses are clearing up so looks like i'm almost over this one... yay!

Just me and Jese home today so might go out for a walk with the pushchair. (if the rain holds out on us)

So good to be home and away from temptation. Everytime I walked into the kitchen at mums there was cake, easter eggs, biscuits, you name it ... staring at me!! Cake 2EyesCookies 2 I just can't lose weight at her house. I'm really good at home because I just don't buy bad foods, don't have them in the house. But put something infront of me and I just can't say no.

Back to a good week of tracking and eating well. I am not going to worry what the scales say this week at weigh in, I can't change what I ate last week, I can only change today. So that's what I'm going to do.

Sick again!!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Nice to know I'm not the only one finding easter hard :)

Arrived home today after having the weekend away at mum and dads. I really didn't do well eating wise, didn't track, didn't drink my water but I did exercise. Infact I spent 2.5hrs yesterday heaving heavy tires onto a silage stack for dad and another hour today doing the same thing. (combined with alot of walking)

The weekend ended up being pretty stressful with both Jordan and Lauren coming down with a vomating bug. Nothing worse than having to wake up 5 times a night to change bedding and comfort a little one who doesn't know what to do with themselves. I too came down with another bug while at mum and dads, although it's a headcold one rather than a vomiting one. So I'm grateful I don't have my head down a toilet (one of the worst things in the world to me) but still feel quite yuck today. Kinda feel peeved that I have got yet another bug as it wasn't that long ago that I was sick and here I go again.

The three oldest kids are staying at mums and have brought Jese home with me (22mths). So looking forward to a few days break. Hopefully I start my job on Wednesday.

Quiet night at home infront of the tele tonight and then an early night I think. Didn't sleep well the past 3 nights with the kids not well, me not well and a lumpy sofa for a bed.

I'll update more tomorrow when i'm feeling a little better.

New outfit!!

I've had a really hard time food wise while at mums. Temptations have been flying in my face. Some of them even flew into my mouth!! I have been trying so hard but nothing seems to be working.

Decided this morning I needed some exercise. So I borrowed my brothers bike and went out for a ride along the river. Trouble was I was wearing his bike shoes that clip onto his peddles. And once I was on and riding I didn't know how to unclip them, nor did I know how to change gear. So here I was peddling up a hill in high gear, struggling to make it and I couldn't stop because I didn't know how to take my feet off the peddles!! Sounds silly now but at the time I was quite scary stuff. I'm sure his bike was posessed!! And of course the inevitable happened!! I fell flat on my face... well onto my knees anyway. Lucky no one was watching at the time as the only real damage was to my pride. But I sure wasn't hoping on that bike again!! And because I couldn't walk in the bike shoes (they had clips on the bottom) I had to walk in barefeet all the way back to the car. Past some horrible boogymen hiding under bridges (or so my imagination thought) I tell ya I tried but just wasn't my day.

So of course thought some retail therapy would make me feel better. Found a georgous top and only $39.95 and of course in a small so I just had to have it. But realised then I forgot my wallet!! Grrr ... really wasn't my day!! Went home in a huff and stopped off on the way for a dozen chocolate chip hot cross buns that I had been ordered to get on the way home. Succumed to 2 of them. My eating really hasn't been good the past few days but I really don't know how I can change that. Roast for dinner last night (of course high fat with my mothers cooking) So Im not going to beat myself up about it. Just try the best I can and wait till I get back home on Monday afternoon and get back into it again with some repair work.

Went back with my brother to get the top in the afternoon and also found some funky jeans (hipster ones even!!) and get this .... size 12!!! and on sale!! Wahoooo!!! $31.50! Have uploaded a pic of my new outfit on my front page. Seeing these pics my brother took when we got home really made up for my failings. Felt fantastic!!

Still haven't heard about the job yet. Find out hopefully on Tuesday. Really missing home (doing this update on my brothers computer). Wont be back till Monday afternoon.

Gotta look at the positives ...

Now for analysing what happened last week to give me a gain. Overall I'm pretty surpised by the scales result.

I went out to a smorgasboard dinner during the week and although I pointed out my food there is never any 100% sure way of knowing exactly what went into the food so maybe I underpointed that.

My kitchen scales are broken at the moment so maybe my portions are creeping up a little.

I did 2 quite big walks this week so maybe there is some muscle build up. I really didn't feel like I had gained and I can usually tell in my clothes (and my wedding rings)

I got really thirsty the night before weighin and drank 1.5litres of water just before I went to bed, so maybe some of the fluid was still in my system at weighin.

Other than that I'm really not sure what happened. But I'm not going to let it get me down. On with this week.

On the positive note ... this has been my first gain in 10wks. Infact the first gain since I moved back to Auckland. So I've got to look at that as an achievement in itself.

Not 100% sure but might have scored myself a job over the school holidays. My brother is a sales rep for Great Outdoors/Fairydown and they need someone to do up a 48 page brochure. It's looking positive that I'll get it. Just need to check that we can change their files (on CD) over from Apple Mac to PC format (I use PC) and if that can be done I've got the job. Mum is looking after the kids for me (shock horror) and I'll be a business working woman for two whole weeks. Up until this opportunity came up I never considered going back to work because I thought I was too fat (stupid huh?) I just didn't want to deal with the 'fitting in and being accepted' part. After I found out about this offer I thought there's no reason to be scared anymore. One more step in coming out of my shell. So I'm quite excited and scared all at the same time. It's been 7yrs since I last worked in an office but I think this will be good for me as well as for my CV.

I should find out by the end of the day if I definately have the job. If I do get it my computer will be left at my workplace for two weeks so might mean I can't update as often. Really not sure yet. If I have a phone line there I can update while I'm at work but don't want to assume anything yet.

Not happy :(

It's late but wanted to give you all an update on my weighin. 400g gain tonight ... really not happy with this but gotta face it and get on with tomorrow. Not much else I can do about it.

We are off to mums for the easter weekend on Friday. As usual this will be tempting and I'm sure I will be faced with chocolate galore.

Went over to my brothers to watch Fair Go tonight, (we can't get tv one here) for my brief moment of fame. Would have missed it if we blinked lol.

I'll update more in detail tomorrow ... for now I'm off to bed. Sheesh I hope next weeks weighin is better. Really gets to me when I gain but I know it's just a small part of the big picture so gotta focus on the right stuff.

Up and down on the scales

Not much to say today...

My weight was right down yesterday but last night I chose to have a second helping and shouldnt have. Consequently my weight is up today ... grrrr!!

Hoping it will go down again or that my scales are wrong ... fingers crossed for weighin tonight.

I'm pumping!!!

I'm so proud of myself!! Yes! Bill and I went to a work dinner last night where they had a huge smorgasboard spread!! You know with all the fatty stuff possible! Feed Me I had planned my day with having lite things before I went using only 4pts and so giving myself 17pts for dinner and drinks.

I skipped entré and went to the mains first. Filled half my plate up with lettuce salad and then put a little coleslaw, caulibake, 1 roast potato, pumpkin and kumera. And then had some chicken (done in tomato based sauce) and 1 slice of roast lamb. I ate all the good stuff first and tried a tiny piece of the lamb and chicken and decided I really didn't want it so gave it to Bill. Way To Go

Then I had a bowl of fresh fruit salad and a glass of jelly and cream for dessert. After eating the chocolate buttons on top (couldn't give them away) I scooped the cream off and left that on the plate and ate the jelly.

And I only had 4pts worth of drinks. I didn't feel like I missed out. Had a taste of the things I wanted and left on my plate what I didn't want. Long gone are the days I cleaned my plate just for the sake of getting value for money. And NO SECOND HELPINGS!! And I really didn't have to force myself on that one. I did consider it but thought no I am just right, I don't need anymore! Yay Me!!! Terrific

I have noticed the past week or so that my tummy is really shrinking and changing shape. This is a biggy for me!!!! I have always had (for as long as I can remember) a big spare tire roll around my tummy. Going from one side right across to the other. But this last week it has shrunk and I can see my hip bones on each side now. I just have a circular potty bit in the middle now!! How exciting is that!!!!! Bouncy 8 I've felt sexy in clothes for a while but never felt comfortable in underwear alone. But now I do, I could quite happily walk round the house in my g-string and bra and feel happy (except I dont because of the kids and the neighbours Afraid lol). That's a ginourmous step for me!!! I still don't feel happy with myself totally naked yet but that will come soon I'm sure.

exercise = good, water = good, eating = BAD!!

We went out for our walk yesterday. Cloud 45mins in total. Lucky the rain held off for us.

Came home and blobbed around the house for the afternoon. Then friends rang us late afternoon to say they would be here in 10mins so I ran around the house to do a quick tidy up. Vacuum Probably a good thing because it gave me the evening off with the house being all tidy.

I did really well with my exercise and water yesterday Teethy but ruined it with my eating. Annoyed And Disappointed I was supposed to be on a super low points day but that didn't happen. Oh Jeez My willpower just gave in, not sure why. Going to have to work on that one for the rest of the week to come in under points for the week. I should be happy with the good things I achieved but instead all I can focus on is my stuff up!! Shoot Me

Nothing = a 2.5hr walk!!

So much for doing nothing yesterday! But can I be suprised?? Bill can never do nothing. Dismay He wanted to drive up to 90 mile beach for the day I Don but for me that was too far to go. So we compromised at doing a walk around Cornwall Park and taking a picnic lunch. (this is the park that Lynda often walks around)

We packed the scooter for Malachi, Lauren's rollerblades, Jordans trike and the mountain buggy pushchair for Jese. It was fantastic fun. With the kids having their wheels meant we were able to walk at a really good pace. We had lunch first then kicked a ball round for an hour or so, then went for a 2.5hr walk around the circumference of the park, lifting all the bikes and pushchairs over the fences around the way lol.

We had so much fun that Bill wants to do it again today. It's a fantastic way of spending time with the family, getting exercise in and having fun all at the same time. Ohhh and it's free!!!

Trouble today is it's threatening to rain on us so not sure how far we'll get. Rainy Today we're going around the Panmure Basin (a lake in central Auckland).

I did my measurements again yesterday and updated my chart on my weights and measurements page for anyone that's interested. I also included my stats onto a website I joined up for www.mybodycomp.com ... it charts your measurements and works out your bodyfat %. In the last six weeks my fat mass has dropped another 2lbs from 60lbs down to 58lbs. And my body fat % has dropped 1% from 36% to 35%. Quite a cool website... go check it out (Oy!! Come back here No No No... not until after you finish reading my journal tho!!!Goofy lol)

Came home after our walk yesterday, cooked dinner, had a couple of wines and fell asleep at 8pm!!! Pillow I must have needed it. I never fall asleep that early! So I had 12hrs sleep last night till 8am this morning!! Wow. That just doesn't happen round here. The kids always have me up early and Bill has be up late. I feel great!!

Not much planned

Didn't get to the gym last night. Watching The Clock Bill didn't get home till after 11pm so that idea went out the window.

Pretty uneventful day here planned. Nice for a change to be doing nothing and Bill has both Saturday and Sunday off so that will be nice.

I really hate it when I cook expensive high point food and it tastes discusting!! lol ... Cooked a surloin steak for dinner Drooling but got sidetracked and cooked it too long. So had an expensive steak that was 5pts and it was dry and crusty!! Yuck!! Vomit 2 lol Laugh oh well I'm sure my body appreciated it even if my taste buds didn't.

I have my cousin arriving from the UK on Monday. She's the one I was a bridesmaid for back in November of 2002 just before I started WW. She hasn't seen me since and doesn't know I've lost weight. So planning on surpising her big time!! Really looking forward to the look on her face when she sees me! Open Mouth She has a busy 3wks planned while she's here so probably won't get to see her for a week or so but I'll fill you in on the details when I do see her again.

Well I'm off to do nothing ... yay!! Cool

Sorry guys (lol)

Apologies for my trick yesterday but I had such a laugh out of it!! Too Funny Especially at all the abuse I got on my tagboard below ... you guys are too funny!!

Firstly I want to say a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Ozgirl for a fantastic hard earned loss today of 1.2kg!! You Rock! She had a disappointing weighin last time so we went over what she had done and what she could do better and she took on board some advice, ran with it and look at what all her hard work did?? A fantastic result Ozgirl!! Wahooo!! If we fall over when we get back up and carry on it makes our achievements far sweeter, knowing we can still do it ... nothing is standing in our way!! High Five

Our story with Fair Go is going to be aired on Wednesday night at 7.30pm on TV One for anyone interested. We were not filmed but they are talking about our story (along with others) and showing a photo of Bill and I. So look out for that one :)

Did really well with my eating yesterday. Even resisted a glass of wine from Bill last night ... wahoo!!
