such a simple solution

What a horrible morning I have had!! Firstly, some background info ... I have a space invaders type game on my computer that I allow my kids to play every now and then. But when they play it sometimes it stuffs up my computer and everything goes big and sideways!!! lol ... really funny and hard to explain and everyone I have asked about it has never heard of it before. I always thought it was something to do with not being compatible with windows XP.

Anyhow up until now everytime it happened I have done a 'system restore'and taken the computer back 24hrs which fixes it.... but ... last night I got sent a virus via email and to get rid of it I had to turn off system restore and forgot to turn it back on again after I had finished ... which meant (you still with me here?) ... when the kids played the game this morning and it went sideways again I didn't have a system restore point to turn the computer back to .... grrrr ... I spent the whole morning trying to fix it ... uninstalling and reinstalling programmes ...

Eventually I went onto Google and did a search for "sideways screen'' and came across a forum with a message posted by someone who had exactly the same thing happen ... such a simple problem to fix once I knew what had happened! The kids must have pressed Ctrl + Alt + the side arrow all at the same time which apparently is a 'hotkeys'command for 'turn the screen sideways!! lol ... so when I pressed Ctrl + Alt and the up arrow it reverted it back to normal ... what a relief!!!

So in a much happier place now lol

On with my eating .... no bad habits creeping back in today. I always feel so slim when TOM has finished. Should have some sort of loss at Mondays weighin ... not sure how much. Gotta make up for the gain at last weighin.

Spent yesterday going to the Mount with mum and dad and the kids. Rained the whole way there, stopped raining for 10mins while we ate our picnic lunch by the water, then rained the whole way back again ... oh well it was a good day out even with the rain. And I was pleased mum decided to pack sandwiches and fruit instead of buying BK or MacDees.

Aparently the front garden has been done on our house. Bill says it looks good but as for details ... umm ... he said they have leaves on the plants and the garden's a sort of half kidney shape or old fireman's hat shape ... whatever that is lol. Typical male!! lol Guess I'll have to wait till later next week when we go up again.

1 job done ... 5 to go

Still a little stressed today although coping okay. Managed to get 1 job finished ... 5 to go. Mum and Dad took the three older kids for an outing to the zoo today so that has given me a little peace and quiet to get work done.

House is a mess at the moment with trying to get so much business work done. It really gets me down when there is clutter. But I'm not going to stress about that ... when my work is all done then I will focus on the housework.

Ended up having a whole bottle of wine to myself last night. Way more than I usually have and I felt the after effects this morning. Serves me right lol. But I enjoyed it and was able to stay within my points even after the wine.

Feeling pretty good weightwise although have been too scared to jump on the scales. I'll wait till weighin on Monday to see how I have gone. Haven't had any blowouts this week although with TOM here the scales do funny things.

Thanks to all of you who sent congrats about our house deposit. It's funny ... I got a better reaction from you guys (whom I've never met in real life) than from family around us. But that's my family ... Indifference is their middle name. I'm still excited tho ... at least I have you guys to share my news with :)

WE'VE MADE IT!!!!

Wow ... we have OFFICIALLY saved our house deposit!!!! Yahoooooo!! All $34,000 of it!!! ($17,000 was paid to the builders at the start and $17,000 we have been saving over the last 5.5mths). I can't believe we actually made it and ahead of time too (by 2 weeks). It means we have to live on baked beans and spagetti this week lol but hey who cares ... we have a new house!!!!!

Can you tell I'm excited?? Toooo right I am!!! Bill set the alarm for midnight lastnight, so we could get up and transfer the funds to our savings account as soon as his pay went in, then we would celebrate with a bottle of wine (which we had set up on the bench ready to go). The alarm went off ... and as expected got turned off again and we went back to sleep! lol ... all with good intentions.

But this morning first thing we got up and transfered it over. Took us 23 weeks all together and what a hard 23 weeks it was too but all makes the house even sweeter :). Not out of the woods quite yet with some big bills to pay over the next couple of weeks but at least the important one is done!

Had a freak session yesterday when I got a virus sent through via email. I managed to stop it and delete it with my Nortons but it scared me. They've had on the news the last few days about a virus that gets into your bank account and strips all funds via internet banking. I rang the bank and asked for extra security to be put on our savings account with a 'NO WITHDRAWALS' policy, but they assured me it would be safe and no extra precautions would be needed. Besides he said if it did get stolen then the bank would cover us and return the funds. Still a scarey thought.

Virus creators really P*** me off. Just for entertainment they like to annoy as many people as possible. Let's get off that subject before I get myself worked up lol.

On the eating note ... I was really good all day yesterday but when it came to dinner I only had a roast mutton to cook so roast mutton it was. I cooked it with no oil but it still turned out pretty fatty. Still probably kept within points for the day but hard to tell with fatty meat like that.

CONGRATS LEIGH!!! on a fantastic weighin!!!! 1.6kg loss!!!! absolutely stunning effort!

On that positive note I'll sign off for the day :)
See ya!

My tantrum!!

I came on here this morning to do an update saying how depressed and stressed I was with this whole moving thing and with all the workload I have on with the business. Even tho I have officially stopped the business and not taking any more bookings I still have the tail end of work to complete. Six sets of stationery in two weeks to be exact ... too much!!

And as far as shifting ... I don't want to shift anymore! Ohh I want to be in my new house ... but I want to be able to click my fingers and be there with all my furniture. We can't afford to get movers in to do it for us and all the people we were relying on to help us have piked out at the last minute!! Typical! And mum is refusing to look after Jesurun. Can you imagine packing and shifting with a 18mth old running round!! It's really falling to custard! I just want it over with and I haven't even started!

To top it off TOM arrived this morning!! Grrrr!!

But in saying that ... I got three wonderful emails from three fantastic people this morning!! Thankyou Clare, Rachel and Lauren!!!! Three wonderful ladies who took the time to email and tell me how my website has helped them in different ways. This has cheered me on to keep going, head up and forget about all the stress around me!!

This website has been the best tool I could have ever had! So many times I have wanted to stop and I know without this I would have. But because I can come here and have a vent out (even a tantrum if I want lol) then I feel so much better. Then I read others journals which greatly inspires me and with feedback I receive from you guys (even if it's just a comment in the tagboard below) I makes me so excited! At the start I did this website to help others but I didn't realise how much it would actually help me!!

SO A HUGE THANKYOU TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU THAT READ THIS!!! Geez sounds like it's me getting the Golden Globe!! (yay gooooooo Lord of the Rings!!!)

Anyway I feel much better now ... thanks for listening to my vent! ;-)

Im sooo in seventh heaven!!!

I am in seventh heaven!!! We just got back from looking at the house. And the builder was right!! The colours are stunning ... especially the carpet. Some of you may remember way back when we chose our colours (last year)that I had some worries about the colour of the carpet. Originally we thought it was a real deep blue but after getting a larger sample it looked more grey. After a lot of twoing and froing we decided to go with it anyway ... well ... guess what??

IT'S BLUE!!!! Yay!!! A deep rich navy blue ... it looks far better down than any sample looked! I love it!!! Everything looks great. Only two small glitches ... the whole they drilled for the deadbolt on one ranchslider is in the wrong place meaning we can't lock the door and the deadbolt at the same time. And they forgot to put a phone plug in that I specifically asked for (for internet connection ... that's for you guys so I can keep up my diary! lol)

But both problems are fixable and not a major. I'll get them a call on Monday to sort it.

Everything is practically finished. The lawn seed is laid ... just a small garden to be planted in the front and the letterbox put in. A railing to go up on the stairs, pantry doors to go on, fridge to arrive, that's about it ... it's all done!!! Our house is finished!!!! I wanna move in NOWWWWWW ... WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! lol

I was so well behaved today!! Bill got pies from the bakery for lunch and they smelt soooo goood!! Nothing smells as good as a hot pie! But I resisted and went with a filled roll instead. Not only that ... he bought me two rolls and I only had one (even if it means throwing the other one away ... wow once upon a time I would have eaten it even if it made me ill rather than throw any food away!!)

Then went to friends for dinner and had home made burgers ... pretty low fat too. Wanted a second but opted for more salad (0 points) Yay I'm sooo gooooood!! :)

Off to bed now ... it's been a long day considering it's after midnight now... way past my bedtime (for an old fart like me anyhow lol)

New pics

I have the pics through of the house ... yay!! I've put them in the photo album for you all to see.

Found out from the builders today that even tho settlement date is set for the 11th February, we won't get the keys till after 4pm (till the paperwork comes through from our soliciter). I would have been happy to shift in the next day but Bill is addiment he wants to shift on that day, regardless of how late it is!! lol

Problem with that is ... dad is driving the truck and he needs to be back in Hamilton by 5pm (at the latest) to milk cows. Hmmm ... not sure how we are going to work this one. And neither will budge (typical males lol). All in all ... it's a minor detail and everything will work out in the end. yay!! I'm so excited!!

My eating was really good up till this afternoon when mum brought home doughnuts!! Grrrr ... and I just couldn't say no could I? I worked it out at 4pts which isn't too bad but will put me over points (of which I don't have any saved). Think I'll have a light dinner to make up for it.

Was really proud of myself last night ... PMT time hitting at the moment and I wanted CHOCOLATE or Icecream ... hey I wasn't fussy ... just something BAD that I wasn't allowed!! But I resisted ... told myself that it was only my hormones being greedy. Beat them into submission! :) yay me!!

Bill noticed last night that our dinners were getting rather large. Funny how portion sizes creep up on you when you are watching it. I've stopped weighing and measuring everything and without me noticing I was starting to cook bigger and bigger meals. Gave me a reality check.

Going up to see the house again tommorow. Michelle from the builders said the photos don't do it justice so will be nice to see it in real life!! Wahooo!!

Carpet is down!! :))

I've been very well behaved today. All except for having a piece of cake mum had made. But she made it with Walnuts (which I don't like) so that helped in resisting a second piece.

Having a vegetarian dinner to save on more points.

Poor Leigh wrote about only having a 100g loss this week after a huge amount of exercise. As hard as it is to accept ... muscle building causes losses to slow down or stop. but this doesn't mean to say it is a bad thing ... quite the opposite! After the body has finished building all the muscle it needs to sustain the exercise demands it will burn fat at a much faster rate, hence speed up the weightloss even more later on. So gooo Leigh!!!

Got an email from the builders this morning to say that the carpet has been laid in our house ... and in her words ''It looks stunning!!" So lets hope she is right. We've gone with a dark charcoal grey/blue with woven lines. I really can't wait to see it. She's supposed to be sending some photos through so I'll post them up as soon as I have them ... yay!! Carpet down ... that's like ... nearly finished!!!

As of this morning we only have $1900 to go to save our $17000 house deposit!! Yay!! I feel like we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now ... really not long to go!

Not good I'm afraid

Had a 600g gain this week ... grrrr!! Taking me back to 79.6kg. I just can't seem to get below the 79kg mark for some reason. Oh well in 3 weeks time I will be back in Auckland and able to spend more on groceries to get a proper shop and better food to stay on track.

I've had a really itchy back lately. Right in one exact spot in the middle of my back behind where my bra strap sits. So I got mum to check it today and she said there's a mole there that has a red ring around it... SCARY STUFF!! I wanted to jump in the car there and then to go get it checked but couldn't with all the kids here at the moment. Will have to wait till tomorrow or the next day. If it is a problem one I didn't think it would be itchy. Hmmm ... not sure whether to freak out or put it out of my mind. I will go get it checked as soon as I possibly can. It's not like I spend much time in the sun either. I get really bad head stroke if I spend too much time in the sun so I tend to just watch from the shade. But in saying that I got burnt a few weeks back when we went to the beach for a few days. But surely I wouldn't get a malenoma from one sitting in the sun (and honestly that is the first time in quite a few years I have been sunbathing)

Kids are driving me barmy!!! Lauren has a friend over to stay today and tommorow ... so there are kids galore here!! Only 3wks to go before the older two head back to school and Jordan starts kindy!! yay!!! Geez I sound so mean don't I? lol ... I just hate the fighting and the MESS!! That also means for 3hrs a day I will only have Jese at home and I can go walking and to the gym!!

Found out yesterday that I only have one more Weight Watchers meeting before we shift! Next Monday is a holiday and the following will be my last. Monday 9th Feb I will be packing.

Not much other news to tell ... lets hope next weigh in will be better than this weeks!

Only 3wks to go!!! ahhhhh!!

I have weigh in this morning ... and to tell you the truth I blew it last night. Not majorly but maybe enough to through the scales to the + side.

We had Malachi's birthday party ... icecream cake with fruit salad (which was okay in points) but then went to friends house and I had a couple of drinks and chinese takeaways. We chose a low point version but when we got it you could see the oil everywhere!! But I still ate it although not a huge plateful. Could have been worse but I so desperately want to get to my 30kg loss mark and I'm only a couple of kilos away. oh well can't mope about it ... gotta go face the music.

But Malachi's birthday was a hit!! We did a BBQ dinner for him on Saturday night with American Hotdogs and chips. Then on Sunday we took him to Candyland where they showed how they made chocolates and lollies. And he got to make his own lollypop! Then we went out to a park for lunch and home for icecream cake and fruitsalad. Malachi never really says much but I could tell by the smile on his face that he was loving it all!!

It suddenly dawned on me yesterday that we only have just over 3wks to go before we move!! I haven't started packing yet!! And infact have so much work on that doesn't look like I can start packing for a while. Every other move we have done I have started packing quite a few weeks out and done it slow when I have the time. But I think I will do it differently this time ... all in one bang. Think we will all go stay at mums for 2days before and I will spend 2 days hard out packing all in one go. That way I can get it all done at one time and not have to leave things out that we still need to use.

I'll try and pop back later on this evening to let you know how weigh in went ... wish me luck!! lol

Fighting the temptations

I feel like a naughty little girl at the moment! I went to town and bought myself a 3ft teddybear. It was reduced down to half price from Farmers because he had a Santa hat (which I took off when I got it home) After showing mum my proud purchase her reply was Öhhh Lynette!! How silly! Don't you know teddy bears are out of fashion now?" So consequently I am feeling rather bitchy!! Mothers, dontcha love em??!!

I have a 2ltr container of icecream staring at me in the freezer that I so want to consume!!! But doing everything in my might not to.

On top of that Bill rang to say he wont be home till late AGAIN! (around 9pm) He is working such long hours at the moment and with travel time it is exagerated even more.

And this morning we found out the company that leases me my computer has just gone into RECEIVERSHIP!! I really don't know what this means for us but may mean we lose our computer and have to start again putting everything back on and just after I have got it running perfectly ... grrrrr!!

It's hot and I WANT ICECREAM!! But I won't allow myself even one bit because if I start with one scoop I won't stop.

On a cheerier note ... FANTASTIC GOING LEIGH!!! She had such a good weigh in result this week ... 4.3kg!!! Simply amazing!!

Don't worry about going over your points each day Lynda ... at least you are still counting. I would start to worry if you hadn't been counting points and not updating your journal. That's when it's easy to slide back into old habits. Besides with all the exercise you are doing you deserve a few treats here and there!

Everyone else is doing fantastically too from what I've been reading ... well done!!!

Best day ever!

Bill and I had the most wonderful day yesterday! We celebrated our 9th Wedding Anniversary. Mum looked after the kids from 10am till 3pm while we went up to Auckland to look at our house. They are getting very near completion and I'm starting to get really excited. 27 days to go before move in day! Then we had lunch (at subway) and off to play a game of mini golf together. Bill whipped my butt ... seems I've lost my touch for mini golf lol. We used to play all the time while we were dating and had a trophy plate that we handed back and forth depending on who won. But he well and truelly won yesterday.

Then had a magnum icecream before heading back to Hamilton to pick up the kids. Relaxed for a bit at home then dressed up for dinner while mum came over again to look after the kids. Went to a restaurant where you get your meat/veges that you want, put the marinate you want and give it to someone who cooks it up for you infront of everyone. Was a great idea in that you got exactly what you wanted and knew there was nothing bad in there (like fat)

Then for dessert they cooked pancakes on another hotplate while you watched and you got to put your chosen syrup and icecream on top.

It meant I didn't go too high in points yet had a really enjoyable dinner.

Then we went for a stroll down by the river and headed off to a friends place who was house sitting a mansion for coffee!! Really nice house ... wow!! 6 bedrooms and amazing gardens! Then headed home. Huge day but a fantastic one!!

This Saturday is Malachi's 6th birthday and we're taking him to Candyland then out to lunch. He mentioned 6mths ago that he would love to go there so we're going to surprise him.

The month after Christmas is filled with celebrations with New Years, my birthday, wedding anniversary, malachi's birthday. Fun but have to be so careful with the overeating. Got through the first 3 without too much damage on the scales ... let's hope the last one is just as good. Luckily I'm not too much of a sweet tooth. Tend to be tempted more by the savory things.

I've started sorting out our stored boxes in the garage and have been chucking things out. I've filled up a trailer load already. Can't believe I shifted all that stuff down here from Auckland in the first place lol. But as a friend pointed out I am obviously ready to part with those things now that I wasn't able to when we moved here 6mths ago. Funny how priorities change when you don't use something for that long.

Busy day ahead with work, work, work.

wahoo!!!

Recorded a 1.2kg loss today at weighin ... yay!! :))

Felt slim but didn't think it would be that good!

Big congrats to Lynda for her wonderful loss this week! 1.3kg!! Way to go Lynda! She mentioned about someone noticing her weightloss on a day she felt fat. lol life is like that sometimes. Shows that how we feel about ourselves is not necesarily how it actually is. But I agree ... she does look hot now!! :))

And Leigh is still doing fantastically too. She has reinspired me to keep going.

Huge success

Started off my birthday day with breakfast in bed thanks to Lauren (my 8yr daughter). Tomato on toast (without butter) isn't she good?

Then got ready for the drive out to Raglan for my flight...

The gliding was a huge success ... I loved every minute of it!! I actually got to fly the glider for 10mins of the 30min flight ... doing circles, going up and down. It was so much fun. We managed to find an updraft while up there and climbed a further 800ft. Could be very addictive lol... but would be too expensive to be a permanent hobby ... here's dreaming lol.

We all went for a swim after my flight. The kids just loved splashing around with their dad. Then came home for a surprise dinner put on by mum and my sister. Everyone in the family was there (except my brother who lives in Sydney) Trish (my sister), her husband, Richard (my younger brother), mum, dad, and of course Bill and the kids. Mum got me a huge birthday sponge cake (with all the trimmings) from the cheesecake shop ... yum!! But hopefully wasn't too high in points being it was mostly sponge.

I did really well points wise (had a few saved up) but went over a little on the second piece of birthday cake ...ahhh well lol.

Mum got me a funky gardening book... really nice and Trish got me an outdoor sail ... how cool is that? To go over our BBQ area in our new house. And of course Bill and the kids bought me the glider flight.

Had lots of fun and don't feel any older today ... hehe

Thanks so much for all your comments ... such a nice surprise when I logged on tonight .... yay!!

Weigh in tommorow and really don't know what to expect... wait and see I guess.

No longer a kid :)

It's 10.41pm and the last day of me officially being a young person (in my mind anyway). In just over 1.5hrs I turn 30yrs old. I'm excited and disappointed at the same time. Imagine 30 years old??? lol

But honestly I'm not too worried. Turning 30 was one of the reasons I decided to start WW last year... I wanted to be slim for the rest of my life. I was sick of being on the verge of obesity or gross obesity lol. Even tho I haven't made it to goal before I turn the big 3...0... I'm still happy where I am and where I am headed.

Bill has shouted me a flight on a glider tomorrow ... something I have always wanted to do. So we are off to Raglan for the big event after lunch. The kids are so excited about my birthday. They have been making me cards and pictures all week and hiding them so I don't find out their surprise... so sweet!! Times like that I love being a mum!

Eating has been good. Haven't had any bad food in the house to be bad. Desperately wanted icecream tonight but lucky we are 15mins drive from the nearest dairy ... too far to be bothered driving all that way lol.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of Leigh ... she is doing so well and has that spark of enthusiasm that is really contagous. Really looking forward to her weighin day. It's great to have a bunch of people on here sharing their ups and downs with everyone. Motivates us all so much!! Goooo Leigh!!!

back breaking work but worth it

I spent today helping dad plant out 500+ sweetcorn seedlings into a paddock... backbreaking work but good for earning those bonus points!!! :)

I looooove sweetcorn so was willing to help out all I could to get a good crop in.

Been very well behaved points wise the last couple of days. Determed to get a loss back on the record.

Huge apologies to everyone who has had problems getting onto my website. The traffic has gone above what a freebie site will allow so basically i will need to upgrade to a paid site to stop it going down all the time which will cost $140 a year. For now while I sort it out either come straight to this page or view it after 8pm at night to be able to get in.

I have put up 2 new photos in my photo album of the house. One was taken on 22 Dec of the outside and one just a few days ago of the tiling at our front entrance. Really not long to go now ... just under 5weeks!! 34 days infact!! and counting down. We have almost $13,000 saved of our $17,000 so on track there too.

dinner is burning so better get back to it.

Something to celebrate!!

The scales were not nice to me this week with another gain of 500g. This time I didn't deserve it!! I know it was down to all the exercise last week (including a 3hr tramp up a mountain) but still doesn't look nice on my records. I'm not going to focus on the gain but on the huge achievements I have gained this last year.

As you can see from my front page I am celebrating one whole year on Weight Watchers. This time last year I was FAT!!! lol and now I consider myself slim ... that's gotta be something to celebrate!!

Here are some of the changes I have noticed ...

1. I am no longer a hermit hiding inside my hole choosing now to go out and socialise rather that sit at home where no one can see me.

2. When I go out I walk with my shoulders back and posture straight ... not because I want to change my posture but because I am proud of who I am and proud of my body!! 1yr ago I had such bad posture purely because I was continually trying to hide.

3. I enjoy shopping and dressing up now. 1 year ago it was my pet hate ... I HATED SHOPPING ~ I could never find clothes that fitted and looked nice on.

4. I can easily sit cross legged on the ground and crossing my legs while sitting is no problem either. 1yr ago I couldn't cross my legs unless I used my arms to hold them together... just too much fat between them thighs! :)

5. This Saturday for my birthday I am going Gliding. Yay cant wait!! 1 yr ago I wouldn't have even suggested such a thing, knowing I wouldn't fit in the seat of the plane.

6. I no longer worry what people are thinking of me. If they don't like me that's their problem and nothing I can do will change that. 1 yr ago I thought EVERYONE hated me unless I did something to impress them.

7. I now LOVE SUMMER!! An excuse to show off my new body, new tan and new clothes. 1 yr ago summer was the worst season of the year because I couldn't hide behind my baggy jerseys.

These are just a few ways my life and attitudes have changed. There are far more ways than I could ever put on here but I guess this gives you the picture that I love what is happening ... love feeling in control again ... love my body ... and can't wait to get to goal!!

Yay me!!!

I'm on a roll now

I've been for 3 walks since I last wrote a few days ago. Went for 2 yesterday, 1 stroll with a cousin along the river and one in the afternoon totalling 1.5hrs that day.

Then this morning dad asked me if I wanted to go with him up Mt Pirongia. It was real fun and I worked my butt off for 3hrs of tramping. Getting excited about exercise again which always makes me stick to my points better too.

I gave Bill a BBQ for christmas so we've been making lots of use of that along with healthy salads. I've always enjoyed summer in that way... so much easier to stick to it.

New Years Eve was a bit of a dead loss last night lol. We were watching a movie on sky while we waited for the hours to tick by then before we knew it ... it was midnight and we'd missed the turn of the calender lol. So we went to bed ... that was it lol ... no hooray, no celebrations! lol. Next year we plan to have a street BBQ in our new home for new years.

Not much else to tell
Happy New Year to everyone!!!!
