Wow it seems like everyones journals are talking about the same subject today ... to comment or not to comment. Interesting topic!! I can see both sides of the issue.
Coming from a journaler it is such a huge buzz to get even one small comment on a tagboard or an encouraging email!! Honestly!! I can't emphasis that enough!! And sometimes it doesn't seem enough just to say Thankyou ... but honestly ... THANKYOU!!!
As a reader of other journals ... I often read them and think wow! to myself about something they may have mentioned ... like a mini lightbulb moment. Even when someones going through a hard time it helps me to see them come out the other side. That's what life is about the ups AND the downs.
We are all human. Ok I'm getting sidetracked here lol ... my point is that often I read journals yet never comment even tho my heart is totally with the journaler. One example of this is Mad's site (apologies Mad if you are reading this lol) but I have been reading her site now for over a year. Infact when i first found it I read her journal from start to finish
(over 300 entries) and was so inspired by her... yet ... I didn't even comment, didn't email her, didn't let her know I had been there
and have been there ever since through her ups and downs. I guess I just felt ... who am I? she doesn't know me ... she's probably inundated with emails and comments everyday she won't want to be buged by me.
But as a journaler I know that isn't true ... the emails I get I treasure ... infact I save every single one of them in their very own folder. When I'm feeling down or need some inspiration I go back and read them. I try to reply to every email I get because I know it takes time and effort for someone to email me so I respect that and show them how much I appreciate it.
Now I need to say this too ... that if you email someone you need to be careful about what you say and how it will be read ... AND ... if you are the journaler you can't take everything to heart... sheesh this is getting confusing. Sometimes it's hard to read in the emotions or how something is said because our language and communication is so much to do with body language and tone of voice that if something is said on here or via email it is so easy to read it the wrong way. So everyone JUST BE CAREFUL and respectful about what you say. And like Jo said on her journal yesterday if you havea personal issue to discuss then I probably think it's more polite to personally email them rather than leaving it on a tagboard or guestbook. We are all here for eachother and in support of eachother.
And this community has been so important to me over the past 18mths ... I would hate to lose anyone from here whether they are a journaler or a reader ... every one of you means the world to me!!!!
There it's said! lol
Now I'm not saying this to get you all to email me lol ... just to shed the light on both sides ... that if you are reading and want to comment or email but are too scared or shy to because you don't think we really want to be bugged ... then that's NOT TRUE! Email and comment away!! But if you are reading and just want to read without necesarily commenting then I think that's okay too.
Wow that was a bit deep and meaningful for today lol. But I think a few things had to be said. Good to get these subject out in the open.
We celebrated Jese's birthday on Saturday... my baby is 2yrs old ...
wow!! he was so funny with the candles on the cake. We turned the lights out and and I walked in with the cake ... he was literally running towards the cake trying to grab the candles!! In the end I was running away from him lol ... just had no fear of them at all! lol. Then while I was cutting it up for everyone he grabbed a candle and started eating it!
lol
We bought him a ride on car that blew bubbles out the back and he was trying to ride it while Bill was still putting it together ... too funny!!
My baby is growing up ... so sad but exciting all the same!
Off for another day ... cleaning day today!
Catcha!

Think I'm on the mend
I'm feeling a little better today. Apologies for my outbursts. In reality I'm still the happy bouncy self I always am
but when I'm feeling down I find this a good place to let it all hang out.
Your comments and emails mean so much to me ... thankyou!!
On reading Kimba's journal today reminded me of something that happened last night. I have this pic on my yahoo profile ... I was playing a little euchre on yahoo when someone sent me a private message to say "hot pic" ... I replied thankyou ... I have a tallented photographer to which he replied "maybe, but he/she has a great asset to work with ... honestly you are really beautiful!" I was blown away ... he was probably some phscyo freak wanting to hit on me but hey who cares, made me feel better lol. I told him thankyou for the compliment, that I was married with LOTS OF KIDS (enough to put anyone off) but took his compliment with grace and dignity.
My weight watchers leader rang me up the other day to see if I was okay as I didn't come to the meeting on Wednesday. It was honestly because Bill worked too late for me to get there. But her concern was really appreciated.
Bill surprised me with the announcement of an overseas trip yesterday. He said if/when we sell the house we will use some of the profits to go overseas together. And that I could choose where we want to go! It's been 7years since we last went overseas together. So this will be something to look forward to.
But I told him only on two conditions ...
1). I want to be at goal before we go
2). I want to be wearing a bikini with my bellybutton pierced (my reward for reaching ww goal weight)
Of course he eagerly agreed to that!! lol
If anyone knows of a great place to go let me know. I would love to go to Europe but probably a little expensive. We're thinking maybe Fiji but not sure yet. Kinda wanting something a little different. In my opinion if you've been to one tropical island you've been to them all. We went to Tahiti last time. Any thoughts??
Took Jese for his jabs at the doctor yesterday and while we were waiting in the doctors room I jumped on the scales out of curiousity ... 72kg!!! Not that I think they were very accurate because if I stood a certain way I could make the needle go down to 65kg!! lol
But gave me a cheap thrill all the same!
I did really well with my dinner last night. We had chicken pieces which I grilled and then I peeled all the skin off (I know I should have done it before I cooked it, but oh well) ... but ... in a moment of weakness ... I ATE THE SKIN!! lol ... sheesh ... sometimes I need a kick up the butt!! lol
Another boring weekend here. Bill is working today and Monday even tho it's a long weekend here. Guess the extra money will help.
I'm outa here ... catcha!

Can't be bothered anymore
Kinda feeling numb today ... like I don't really care anymore ... whatever will be will be. Unfortunately this feeling has carried over to the housework, the washing, my eating, my alcohol levels.
Last night I succumed to one too many bourbans and ended up in bed ... probably the safest place for me at the time.
Have to take Jese for his immunisation jabs today. I feel like such an oaga. I'm really tearing my hair out with him at the moment. His latest annoyance is to draw on all the walls with pens!! Ohh other than his continual grizzling and crying. God I sound bad! lol
I read an article in a New Idea magazine the other day that horribly offended me ... but only because I knew it was true!! ... here's a snippet ...
"Which mum will you be? Over-wrought mum:
This is the woman who had that one extra child. She's never fully recovered and just can't seem to catch up on her own life. She wears whatever is within arm's reach. Typical outfits include: Sneakers, dress pants, a sweatshirt and suede jacket. She never has time for make-up and her hair hasn't been brushed for at least six months.
This sort of mother has been forced to buy a 'people mover'. There's a dent on the driver's side and the tail-lights broken because she drives with one hand in the back seat to prevent John and Sarah from killing each other. Her children are loud and unruly. Over-wrought mum tries to discipline them when she can, but between the washing, ironing, food, sport, school and hubby, something had to give"
I know this isn't exactly me but God I hope it never does become me!! It's a deep down fear of mine to be exactly like this. I think the fear came from an Aunty who had 7 kids and everything was always such a mess ... gave me nightmares for years!
So today ... I'm just warn out emotionally ... can't be bothered with nothing.

Here's why ...
I had planned to go to weighin last night but Bill rang late afternoon to say he was working late ... so that idea went out the window.
TTOM turned up last night ... might explain a few things ... my low feelings, not feeling in control of my eating, my weight going up (on my home scales).
I had totally forgotten that it was due lol. So at least I'm not pregnant (not that I expected to be).
One piece of good news ... I have scored some more work from Arthur Ellis (aka Fairydown) for some design work. It's only a few days work but I can do it from home, starting Wednesday or Thursday next week. Every little bit helps!
Well I guess I should let you all know ... (I've known for a week or two now) ... we have decided to put the house on the market. Probably the biggest reason for my blah feelings lately. I'm really sad about it but common sence tells me it's the best thing to do unless something else comes up.
With Bill's new job we can't afford to keep paying this huge mortgage. We have a couple of thousand in savings which will tide us over for a bit but it won't last forever. And we want to be able to sell in our time not in a rush because we have no money left. We will wait till around September when the weathers a bit nicer and the realty market comes into season. It's not all bad news - we should come out of it with a good $120,000 cash in the pocket and considering we only put in $35,000 that's a very good return on investment in 6mths.
This will allow us to get a very good sized superette. And we will probably look in Hamilton. The security risk in South Auckland is just too high for me. There's just too many armed robberies round here. So means another big shift!! Sheesh I'm sick of packing and unpacking!!
I'm really sad about it but financially it's the best alternative. I've spent the last week going through all the emotions ... numbness, anger, tears, excitement, impatience, round and round. But I think I'm finally starting to accept it ... I think!

shop till I drop
I didn't make it to my meeting last night. Given it's only 5 days since my last weigh in I thought I would leave it till next Monday instead ... wimp I know ... lol
Went and did some retail therapy yesterday. Finally got us some curtains (3mths after we moved in). The quotes we got to get someone to make curtains for us came to between $5000 and $7000 for the whole house!!
And the choices they gave were just ok ...
nothing fantastic. So instead I went to the warehouse and spotlight and picked up some real bargains. Got curtains for the lounge, dining room, kitchen, family room and Lauren's room all for just $800!! Only our room upstairs, the spare room, Malachi's and Jordans room to go ... over half way there.
And the curtains I got are amazing!! I got plain forrest green backing curtain with a burgandy organza overlay. Giving it an effect of shot fabric that changes colour with the light. Just love them!! And finished it off with cast iron black rods with curly finials and cast iron black tieback rods.
And for Laurens room I got the perfect patterned curtains that matches into her lilac and silver room.
The kitchen ones I got fancy bamboo roman blinds in a natural brown colour. Haven't got these ones up yet.
Here's Laurens room... there is a bit of distortion because I used a wide angle lens and pieced them together but it gives you an idea ...
And the lounge, dining room ...
A little retail therapy always makes a girl feel good

New Meeting
Going to my new weight watchers meeting tonight. I'm headed for another gain so not sure if I'll weigh or not. See how I feel when I get there I guess.
Hopefully Bill makes it home in time so I can go.
Not much to report. I'm not in a very good head space at the moment. Just can't seem to kick this cloud, but don't want to bore you all with the details.
I'll come out of it eventually, just stick with me here

Life sucks and then there's weight watchers :) lol
Hi Honey ... Im home!! ... guess what?? I got the sack today too!!
That's my words to Bill tonight when I got home from my weight watchers meeting. I have to laugh about it now, that's all I can do. After all what else could possibly go wrong ... oops yeah I could get shot!
Lucky I'm not in Iraq at the moment. Honestly (no offence to the Iraquians but I have to have some happy look on life at the moment)
Here's the details ...
My weight watchers leader has always been supportive of my role as a weigher at my meeting. I've been working for weight watchers for over a year now. When I left for Hamilton she said to me I will always have a job when I got back. And true to her word I got back to Auckland and stepped right back into my role as a weigher for my 5pm meeting.
Over the past year I have swapped from the 6.30pm meeting to the 5pm meeting and so forth depending on the requirements of the meetings and myself.
The lady who does the 6.30pm meeting has always said she is happy to swap with me depending on what the situation is.
With Bill starting his new job this week we found out that he couldn't get off early on Wednesdays anymore. So I figured I could quite easily swap back to the 6.30pm meeting again (of course with the permission of the weigher wanting to swap with me)
Today I tried to get hold of my leader to let her know I couldn't be there for the earlier meeting but continually got the answer phone. So instead sent an email to the other weigher to let her know to pass the message on.
As it turned out Bill got home early so off I went to the early meeting. When I arrived the other weigher had just passed on my message to the staff there. I immediately was approached by my leader to say she didn't appreciate finding out that sort of message from another staff member! I mean come on!!! I had tried to contact her, not like she could be reached!! And then she said it wouldn't be suitable to expect the weigher of the 6.30pm meeting to swap. She didn't want to muck her about!!! She has been a weigher of all about 4 or 5mths!! I have been there for over a year now!! So basically I was told that was it ... NO JOB LEFT FOR ME!! LOL LOL LOL LOL!! I have to laugh - what else can I do?? I can't even hold down the one and only pathetic job I have! lol
I decided there and then that stuff her I'm not staying at that meeting. So I'm going to a different one on Monday night. And if I like it I'm going to change over.
On a good note ... I only put on 600g this week. Was expecting around a 2-3kg gain so I'm happy with that.
On that happy note ... I'll sign off for now :) And Marilyn (my weight watchers leader) If you are reading this ... HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!!!
Was funny ... when I left for Hamilton I got a bunch of flowers and a big thankyou speach ... tonight ???
No thankyou for the weeks on end I turned up getting paid not even enough to cover my membership fees ... but hey ... that's life ... right??

The car blues
Don't really know why I am updating today as I don't really have much to say. But want to keep my habit up of updating even if I have to bore you all!! lol
Bill started his new job today. He started at 6am ... early start but hoping he will finish early too.
The car situation is a little nerve wracking at the moment. We gave back our company car on Friday and our other car the brakes have gone but we can't afford to get it fixed till after Wednesday (payday) so Bill has taken it to work anyway ... praying he's ok.
So I'm stuck at home today without a car. Have to drop Jordan off to kindy and pick the kids up from school ... hmmm... still don't know how that's going to work without a car! lol... guess I'll sort something out by then. Guess I'll have a good day of walking :)
It's a bizarre feeling not to have any work on. I have been doing wedding stationery for 6yrs and have finally decided to stop it. Basically it was so much work for very little money. Twiddling my thumbs ... bored already!!
Eating has still be eratic. I'm usually like this until I get to a weighin ... find out the bad news then I can move on. That's why it's so important to get to weighin even if I know it's going to be a gain. I can't move on until I know.
Although in saying that I have done quite a bit of exercise over the weekend. Went for an hours walk to take Lauren to netball on Saturday, then yesterday we (the whole family) walked to the petrol station to get some petrol for the lawnmower. 1.5hrs later we arrived home again ... knackered!!! And then!!! ... I mowed the lawns!! Probably 2hrs worth of exercise for yesterday, that's gotta do something for my weightloss (probably not before weighin on Wednesday, but it's all good)

We had a blast and I MET JO!!!
Wow what a full on week I have had! We left on Monday night after finally finishing my last stationery job around 7.30pm and headed down to mums in Hamilton. Put the kids to bed and chatted for a bit before heading to bed. Then up early the next morning and off to Palmerston North. Got down there around 3pm but no one was home at Bill's brothers so we just drove round having a look at the place. Got back there around 6pm intime for dinner, a few drinkies and off to bed again.
Wednesday we decided (spur of the moment) to ... guess what? ... GO VISIT JO (kiwiJo) IN WELLINGTON!!! I rang her on our way to prewarn her we were coming. The surprise in her voice was amazing!! lol. We got to Wellington around 11am and talked and talked for ages! She's amazing and such a hoot!! Was really bizarre seeing her in real life! Rhian is absolutely beautiful!!! She just lay on her rug and watched the world while we gossiped like a couple of gasbags!! Was the highlight of my trip down there!
Got back around 4pm Wednesday intime to put some dinner on for the Whanau. Then Thursday we had a relaxing day indoors (it was freezing down there!!!) watching dvd's and basically nothing much!
Then this morning we were up at 5am to leave back home. We had to have the company car back by 3pm this afternoon and still needed to clean it out. There was a dusting of snow on the desert road so that was exciting for the kids.
Back home again now and quite happy to be doing not much for the next few days. All my stationery work is finally finished ... my last job completed. And Bill starts his new job on Monday. A whole weekend off ... wahoo ... one of a few since he started his job in November last year.
Quite bizarre to think both Bill and I are unemployed for the next few days lol.
I have to confess my eating was shocking while away and after hoping on the scales this afternoon looks like I'll have around a 1kg gain but hey I had fun and back into it again now that I'm home.
Well that's me for the last week ... I'm off to catch up on what you others have been up to!

Had a play with the camera
Big Congrats to Jo ... wahoo so excited for you!! Can't wait to find out all the details!
We ended up having a house full of people here over the weekend and it was fantastic. My brother came round for dinner on Friday night so was good to catch up with him again. He lives in central Auckland but we don't tend to catch up that often.
Then mum and dad came up on Saturday afternoon followed by my sister and her husband Saturday night. They all stayed the night and mum and dad left Sunday morning for a weekend at Hotel de Vin that all us kids shouted them for mum's birthday. Then my sister, her husband and us and the kids went out for a picnic lunch at Totara Park for lunch on Sunday. I went over board on the food side. Even had white chocolate!! Shock horror!! White chocolate is my all time favourite but I just don't allow myself usually because I can't stop at one piece. Consequently more than one piece was had lol.
Took some photos of the kids on the playground. Getting in some practice for my photography. This one below is a shot I took (well actually 5 or 6 shots) and merged them all together into one panoramic photo. If you look closely you can see that there are actually 4 or 5 of each of them in the photo. Tricky huh? lol
and another ...
We're off on holiday tonight till Friday. Will be good to just get away. It's going to be a hugely busy few days but getting out of the house and away together as a family is way cool!! Something we don't get to do too often.
So I'll catch up with you all when I get back on Friday. (won't be having weighin this week, probably a good thing heheh)

Last day of work for Bill
Bill has his last day of work today. His boss has given him next week off with pay and use of the company car, so we are going to take off for the week and travel as far as we can with the car. Probably stop off at mum and dad's in Hamilton for the night and then go down to Bill's brother in Palmerston North for a couple of nights.
Lauren has a school trip to go to on Monday so we'll leave on Tuesday. Will be nice to get away for a bit and enjoy a holiday before Bill starts his new job on the following Monday.
Had a bit of a blowout last night on the bourben. Too many I think but felt like just letting lose for a bit.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments!! It really cheers up my day :)
Wonder how Jo is getting on ... how exciting!! Can't wait to find out what happened.

Damn Fine!!
I have like ... 1.8kg to go to get to goal!!! That's like SO CLOSE!!! I had people telling me this week that I must be stoked how I'm so close to goal but I didn't feel it. 2.2kg to me felt like almost half a stone which in my mind is heaps!! But after weigh in tonight (and a whole 400g lighter!!) I now only have 1.8kg to go and that is like JUST OVER A KILO!! It just hit me tonight that I am actually nearly there!!!! Funny what difference 400g makes! :)
I did my measurements today too ... and I have a couple of cool things to tell ...
1. I have lost over 1.5 METRES!!! in measurements LMAO!!! how bad does that sound!! Well good now but bad that I had that much to lose in the first place
2. I am now down to the 'healthy' waist to hip ratio of 0.79 ... which basically means that my waist is 79% of the size of my hips. They say (whoever they is lol) that anything below 80% is good.
3. I now don't have any measurements over 100cm!!! Wahooooo that's a major for me!!! My hips and tummy (and bust for that matter) have always been over 100cm. But as of tonight they are all under 100cm!!
Here's a comparison of my measurements from start to now ...
Feeling pretty happy with myself tonight .. bought time something good happened Posted by Lyn at 2:08 PM 0 comments
Wednesday, May 12, 2004hoping for a lossHad a really low points day yesterday to make up for the weekend. Hoping it will be enough for a loss tonight. My scales at home are saying a 'stay the same' but they are so inaccurate that I really don't know what that means for weighin tonight. Posted by Lyn at 2:07 PM 0 comments

Monday, May 10, 2004Lynda's leaving?? :((not much has happened over the weekend. We had a nice mothers day ... spent the morning going to church, yes shock horror! lol ... first time we have gone to church in a couple of years. We used to be quite involved in a church a couple of years back but things happened and we stopped going. This one we went to was a local one with only 20 or so people there. Nothing hugely evenful happened there but was a nice way to spend a Sunday morning. Posted by Lyn at 2:04 PM 0 comments

Friday, May 07, 2004Getting back to businessThis job hunting thing has really been getting me down lately. It's just so competitive. Every job I seem to be able to get isn't paying enough to even cover the daycare costs so I have to turn it down. Posted by Lyn at 2:03 PM 0 comments
Wednesday, May 05, 2004A bit of good news!! :)700g gone for good!! Yeeeehaaa!! Very happy result! Considering my past week of not tracking and eating out at the school reunion ... ohh and also with TTOM here. Posted by Lyn at 2:03 PM 0 comments
Tuesday, May 04, 2004Veterinary AssistantI've applied for two jobs so far ... a graphic design job in the city and then yesterday afternoon I saw a job going for a veterinary assistant in the same suberb we live in. I have no qualifications but the job said "experience prefered" so I read that as they were willing to take on some who wasn't experienced. I was supposed to send my cv off to a postal address but instead I took it down to the guy personally and introduced myself. Posted by Lyn at 2:02 PM 2 comments
Monday, May 03, 2004Back to the 9-5Looks like I'm going back to work fulltime. Much sooner than expected. It's a long story but basically Bill's job is turning nasty and he's been offered another fantastic opportunity but means taking a $20,000 paycut and losing the car. So either I go back to work or we lose the house. Posted by Lyn at 2:02 PM 0 comments
Saturday, May 01, 2004What was I scared of?The school reunion was an absolute blast!! I walked in with my head held high and proud of who I am. I was nervous of meeting school pupils I hadn't seen in over 15-20yrs. As I walked in I heard some people murmer and whisper ... saying "hey that's Lynette, wow look at her!" I felt so fantastic!!
