Yes you read correctly ... 1.1kg loss!!! wahoo!! ... this means two things this week ...

1. I have now officially lost over 5 stone total!5

2. I'm now over 3 quarters of the way to my personal goal of 65kg! High Five

I'm really starting to feel slim this week. I still have a long way to go on my hips, tummy and thighs Push Upbut I really can see the improvement. It's so true that your minds image of yourself takes much longer to catch up than your actual image.

For me this was true when I got fat too ... Fat GuyI still thought I was slim skinnyfor a long time until I saw some recent photos. And even then I thought that there was something wrong with the camera ... that it was showing me as far fatter than I really was ... Hystericallol

And now that I have lost weight I am only just starting to feel it. I've felt the positive effects for a while but actually starting to KNOW that I am slimmer has been a long time coming.

My weight watchers leader asked me if I wanted to enter Slimmer of the Year competition tonight. Who? I'm flattered that she thought of me. But I said no... for this years entry anyway. I would have to be at my ww goal by May and have done a 6wk maintenance by then. Just too tight for my liking. If I didn't make it in time I would feel like an utter failure instead of focusing on all the weight I have lost I would focus on the missing out on getting to goal on time. But I told her definately next year I will try. And by that stage I would have been at goal for 8 or 9mths or so... far more impressive for the judges. It will also give me something to go for once I get to goal ... setting the promise to myself that I have to stay slim to go for that.Dream Big#1 Trophy

It reminds me of a story (ohhh nooo you sayOh Jeez lol) ...

When I got to goal the first time 10yrs ago with Jenny Craig, I was asked if I wanted to try for an advertising campaign. Brows So I went through all the interviews etc competing against over a hundred other new slimmers. A few months went by and I heard nothing. In that time I went to the States Bon Voyagefor a 2mth trip. While I was over there I tracked religously, watched what I ate, swam Swimmingin motel pools when I could, did as much walking as I could. But the American food was just soooo fattening DonutPretzelDonut 2that I couldn't do anything about the kilos I was packing on. skinny (I seriously don't know how they lose weight over there). When I returned to NZ I got a phone call Chattyto say I had been chosen to appear on a Jenny Craig ad. I was to fly out to Australia in two days to start filming. My first thought was of exhiloration and excitement ... then a few moments later I realised that I couldn't do it...Tears I had put on 6kg while I was in the US. Although I had previously lost 40kg they couldn't use me in advertisement if in 2mths after getting to goal I had put back on 6kg. I was gutted!!

And to some degree I am still dealing with feelings of fear when it comes to maintenance. Wimp I know I can lose weight ... I've done it before ... but to keep it off ... that's what I'm scared of. I'm fine if I have something to go for ... some goal to achieve. But I'm scared that when I don't see the scales dropping down I will lose motivation. Guess I will have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

For now I'm going to focus on my fantastic achievement tonight!! Way Too HappyYay!! Onwards and downwards I say!Bouncy 5

good vs evil

Haven't heard anything from Fair Go yet. Ponder Cherie from Farmers is ringing on Thursday to find out what we want to do. Whether we want to go choose new stuff or get a refund on everything so hopefully Fair Go will contact us before then.

I didn't go out walking yesterday as planned.Shoot Me I didn't manage to get Jese down for a morning sleep so when Jordan went to kindy in the afternoon all I wanted to do was get Jese home to bed ... not waste time walking. Looking back on it I was just making excuses. Oh Jeez Thought I was being realistic at the time lol.

Then when Bill didn't turn up at his usual hometime I was really annoyed and told myself "Great!! Can't go to the gym now either". But really there was no reason I couldn't go to the gym. He arrived home around 6pm and the gym didn't close till 7.50pm so there was still plenty of time. I was having major head issues for a few minutes. Telling myself I needed to go or I wouldn't forgive myself the next day, then switching over to say nahhh I've done enough exercise... lol. Good Vs EvilIn the end I gave myself a slap on the hand and told myself to get my butt in that car and GO!! So with my tail between my legs I did as I was told.

And of course I was sooo glad I did. Felt great being there literally working that butt off!! Sit Up It was a really hard workout and some of the ruitines I struggled to finish ... but I did it ... Way To Gochallenged myself to finish them!! Would much rather it be challenging than too easy and boring.

By the time I got home, showered, put the rubbish out and sat down for dinner it was 9pm ... so I was starving by that time Munchy... but was soo worth it!

Stuck to my points exactly yesterday. I am really pumping at the moment!! Haven't been this motivated since way back when I started a year ago! I think it was the photos that Lynda took that did it for me. I saw I was actually getting somewhere. It's funny how we can look in the mirror every morning but not see the true image of what we look like until we see photos of ourselves. Very ConfusedWonder why that is? I'm really bad at taking photos ... still have a fear of the camera ... gotta get over that one! With time I guess I will come right.

Had a sneak preview on the gym scales last night ... and I'm not going to tell you what it said but put it this way ... IM REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO WEIGHIN TONIGHT!! Weighing If the ww scales are anywhere near what the gym ones are then the Wendie Plan is a proven winner for me! Considering on Saturday I had a 32pt day (planned) yet to have a loss ... wow!

There are positives and negatives to it tho. You have to be really strict on yourself. If you have your ultra hi point day and not the low ones then you will gain and if you don't have your high point day and only your low point ones you will slow your motabolism down too much. So it's a very fine balance. But if you can do it ... it's definately worth the effort. The positive is that you can plan on using your ultra high point day for a day you would normally struggle on. For me that is Saturdays when Bill is home. Means I can have a few drinks Blurry Drunk(and maybe a few more, lol) and still lose weight!

I've had some really cool comments from you guys the last couple of days!! Thankyou soooo much!! It honestly helps me soo much! I said to Bill yesterday morning that I never realised how much motivation this website would give me. It is truelly the reason I have come this far!! You guys are so supportive of me and it's fantastic!!!Double Kiss THANKYOU!!!

My Boring Life ... NOT!

Wow for a lady who stays at home with 4 kids I have a pretty interesting life! Ponder Wanna hear another saga??

You know our furniture we were getting from Farmers that still hasn't arrived? ... Waitingwell we got a call from the sales lady last night to say that 4 out of the 10 items we ordered have now been deleted and are no longer available!! Can you believe it? Steamed We ordered them over 4mths ago, paid a deposit, had them put aside on hold now they misteriously can't find them and can't supply us with them. That was the final straw for us ... we have now emailed Fair Go and see what they can do for us. EmailIt's gone beyond a joke. I'll keep you posted as to what Fair Go will do.

I had an incident a few years back with a parking ticket that wasn't mine. They were trying to make me go to court for it (to pay a fine for around $200 odd dollars) Even tho I could prove it wasn't my car they wouldn't listen to me. But after one call to Fair Go and a few hours later it was sorted. It was never used on tv but showed even their telephone calls have amazing power. Chatty I had spent weeks and weeks trying to sort it and absolutely no one would listen to me... gooo Fair Go! Hopefully they will have the same power in this incident.

My walking idea worked great yesterday. Will do it again today. Took me half an hour each way so a total of 1hrs walk and 4 bonus points. Bouncy 2

I didn't use all my points yesterday. Makes up for the extra points I used the other day.

Bill told me this morning that I feel amazing!! That he's so proud of me with all my weightloss. Blushy 2Awww he's a sweety!

Not sure if the smiley faces are too distracting or not. Thought I would make my diary a bit more fun to read. Let me know below if they're annoying or if you like them. Pulling My Hair OutIf too many people don't then I will take them off.

Should be able to get to the gym tonight. It's been over a week since I last went but Bill has been doing huge hours at work and I just haven't been able to get there. The walking has been fine but don't want to leave it too long before I get back there. Fingers Crossed Hopefully tonight.

neighbours ... ohhh boy!! :)

Had my first run in with a freak neighbour!! lol

We were standing outside talking with 2 of our neighbours, chatting about how the house prices had gone up in our street with a house down the end of the street selling for $450,000 when we all paid a lot less than that to build our houses. And this was the conversation that followed ... (I can't stop laughing about it now to think that someone would be so bluntly insecure) ...

Neighbour ... "we paid far less than that ... $354,000 to be exact. What did you pay?"
Me ..."well yes we paid less too ... $342,000"
N ... "oh of course but yours is far smaller than OURS"
M ... "Yes it's slightly smaller by about 10sqmtrs"
N ... "And yours has less bedrooms than ours"
M ..."Well actually no, it has the same but yes it is smaller"
N ..."No ... yours only has 4 bedrooms where ours has 4 plus a loft"
M ... "hmmm ... ours has 4 bedrooms and a loft too, but yours does have an extra bathroom than ours"
N ..."No! Yours isnt a loft, it's a parent's retreat, ours has an actual loft! But yes youre right ours DOES have an extra bathroom!"
(whatever the hell the difference is between a parents retreat and a loft I don't know lol... they look exactly the same but ohhh well ... she wins ... I don't really care, I like our house lol)

OMG I could NOT believe someone could be so insecure about comparing their house to someone elses lol. It sounded like something you would hear in a 6yr old's playground not from a 50yr old... "my daddys stronger than your daddy ... naanana naa naaa"

I came home and told Bill about it and he couldn't believe it either! lol, she obviously needs a few more cuddles in her life.

I did really well sticking to my points yesterday that was until Bill brought a bottle of wine home ... hmmm ..... didn't do quite as well at resisting last night. Went over a couple of points in the day but I'm really not worried given the bonus points I'd earnt the previous day.

I made the mistake of playing around with my website while under the influence of alcohol last night and made changes that I can't take back now ... whooops Bag Headlol. Oh well, don't like it as much as I used to but would take too much work to get it back how it was before. Remind me next time not to do that! lol

Thought of a brain wave how I can get more walking in. Jordan goes to kindy 3 afternoons a week. I wanted to walk him there and back with Jese in the pushchair but didn't think Jordan could cope with the distance (or the speed). And suddenly I clicked today (takes me a while sometimesPea Brain lol) that I could go up to kindy in the car, drop him off to kindy then walk home with Jese in the pushchair, leaving the car there. And then later in the day walk up to kindy to pick him up and drive home. That way he's not doing any walking and I am. And I get a walk back and a walk up again ... Yes!great!! Not quite sure how I will work Jese's sleeps around that one given he usually sleeps while Jordan's at kindy ...Hmm but I'm sure I'll work something out.

Suddenly got a whole lot of business work to get onto again... just the tail ends but it seems to all come at once. Wish I could click my fingers and it would all be done... guess I'm not a genie... bummer! I Wish

Great Day Out

Our weekend away went really well...

On Friday night Bill had a friend from work over for a few drinks Beer 3 and a BBQ. Barbeque I said no to the alcohol and they decided they wanted sausages and chips ... hmmm ... not a good choice for me. So I grabbed some chicken kebabs out of the freezer, microwaved some potatoes for myself with lite sour cream and did up a lettuce salad Salad and peas all while they ate their chips and bangers ... and I didn't miss it one bit!

Bill kept asking me if I wanted a wine or two. I continued to say no but he kept nagging.Crazy Had to be really strong on that one. On the way to dropping his friend home he wanted me to call by the supermarket and pick up a bottle of wine ... even tried to make me promise ... I had to be so persistant on not having it!! Males can be so persuasive at times!
But in the end I succeeded at sticking to my points for the day.

Then early yesterday morning we set off for the beach.Way Too Happy My aunt has a batch at Pukehina (20mins away from Te Puke). It's just a concrete block batch but it sits right on the beach front. You walk off the deck onto the sand!! Really nice spot ... Tanny and the day was perfect weather.

On the way there Bill wanted to stop off at a bakery to get some breakfast for the kids as they'd only had a slice of toast before we left. I'd already had had cereal so didn't really need anything else just yet. But Bill parked the car and made me run in. I had to combat those early morning bakery aromas and all the scrummy cakes,Cake 3 muffins and lolly cakes ... boy oh boy!! The only low point food in there was a filled roll which was too much for that time of the morning. I resisted all the temptations AGAIN and walked out with pizza bread for Bill and the kids and a spotty soft (not particularly nice) banana Banana and a Mizone drink for myself. I then had to break the pizza bread up and serve it out to the kids without slipping a piece into my drooling mouth. This definately deserved a bravo star for this week.

A few minutes later down the road we caught up with my sister and her husband (also going to the batch) and when we wound down the windows my Brother in law started throwing lollies Peppermint Candy at us through the window. Talk about temptation flying at me in the face. I secumed to having 1 of them but handed the rest out to Bill and the kids. Drooling Bouncy Smiley

Just as we arrived at the batch my Uncle was pulling in a 7ft shark that got caught in the fishing net. I've never seen a shark up that close and it was quite a scary thought to think it was swimming where he had his net out only 20-30ft into the water!! By the time they pulled the net in it was dead so we all got to have a closer look. Their skin is quite amazing ... smooth in one direction and like sand paper in the oposite. Bill got a graze on his food (which bled) just from rubbing up against it try to help pull it in. After the novelty of the shark had warn off all the kids wanted to go straight back for a swim in the water ... obviously no comprehension of what had just come out of there!! Castawaylol ... I was a little hesitant as you could probably tell. It was such a nice day to not let them swim so told them to not go further than leg height (which was high enough given the big surf) They all had a blast burying eachother in the sand and running around.

My cousin, sister and I set off for a walk along the beach. The full beach is 10kms long from one end to the other and they live in the middle. We walked from the middle to the end and back to the middle again meaning a 10km walk lasting 1.5hrs and many tired muscles later!! (and 8 bonus points earnt!) Walking on sand is really hard going too ... I'm sure it's worth more than the 8pts lol.

I was on my super high points day of 32pts yesterday and I really struggled with it! Mostly head issues. I really couldn't get my head around eating so much! Zany But I know if I don't have my hi points day I'd do more damage by slowing my motabolism down too much. Lucky quite a few of us there were also doing weight watchers so there was alot of point friendly food brought. I tried an absolutely delicious ww fruit cake that was only 2.5pts per piece.

Recipe is ...

1kg mixed dried fruit
2cups flour
2cups strong coffee
150g fruit and nut chocolate (broken into small pieces)

And thats it!!Yummy

Soak the fruit in coffee overnight, then add the other ingredients ... mix and cook!! That's it!! and it was really yummy!! Makes 25serves @ 2.5pts per serve

We came home late last night and on getting home I still had another 4 or so points to use. So Bill and I sat in bed eating a bowl of lite icecream and smarties ... yumm ... nice end to a great day!!Brows

Today all the kids are tired, grumpy and sunburnt but nothing a good bath and sleep won't fix. Dreaming

Finally met Lynda!! :)

Got an MSN message from Lynda this morning to see what I was doing today ... so I told her to come on over for a coffee.

Was so cool to meet her finally. We have been in contact for nearly a year now but never actually met ... until today. She is looking absolutely GEORGOUS!!! We had a great time and before we realised it 3hrs had passed.

While she was here she took some update photos so you can all see what I actually look like lately. The main one is on the front page (you may need to refresh the page to view it). There's a side view in my album and some ones she took of Jordan and Jese as well.

My eating has been good so far but have yet to have dinner. Should still be under points for the day.

"I've seen the light!" said Bill

I was standing infront of my new full length mirror last night looking and pushing in my tummy (as I'm sure we all do lol) when Bill said to me ... "Hey!! turn around!" "What??" I snapped, expecting some smart comment to come out of his mouth. "I've seen the light, no seriously I can see the light between your thighs even when they are together" LOL ... we both cracked up laughing!! But that was such a pleasant thing to know that my thighs no longer rub together (like they have done for nearly my whole life). I've noticed I no longer get chaiffing on my thighs and my clothes aren't wearing out in the legs so much now either. That's gotta be good... yay!!

I've got a surprise for you all ... okay Im no good at keeping secrets lol. I have organised for my friend (who's a Kodak Gold winning professional photographer) to do a photo shoot of me for my website so you can all see an updated pic of me. I've done it as a reward for myself. We've organised it for next week... yay can't wait! Huh? Me? can't wait to have a photo taken of myself?? wow things HAVE changed lol :)

Mowed the lawns this afternoon instead of going to the gym because Bill wanted to work late tonight. Borrowed a neighbours lawnmower as ours still hasn't arrived from Farmers yet. Only got two thirds done before I ran out of petrol but took me an hour to do that much. It was so long that I could only do 1.5 strips before I had to empty the catcher. At least the front and half the back looks good now and I got to earn myself some bonus points.

Came in under points but no such luck for a loss

I did well with my eating yesterday. Coming in at the end of the day with 2.5pts in the black again. My weight is still up this morning so looks like I'm in for a gain tonight but I know within myself that I did the best I could and that my points were fine for the week. Sometimes our bodies gain even when our points are fine. I know I had that blowout at the start of the week but I earnt it back ... oh well can't be helped now I guess.

After reading Kimbas journal yesterday (http://geocities.com/shrinkinkimba) she mentioned about trying on her wedding dress again and I remembered I hadn't tried mine on for quite a while. Every other time I still hadn't been able to get the zip up... but last night it went on perfectly!! The first time since we were married over 9yrs ago that I have been able to fit it! I know I'm still a bit heavier now than when we got married but my weight now is mostly on my hips and thighs which doesn't effect getting my dress on. So I'm going to concentrate on this positive rather than any gain I may have tonight.

We've heard from Farmers that our furniture should start arriving from Thursday ... finally!! Won't start celebrating this one until it's all arrived tho.

It's Good To Be Back In The Gym Seat Again :)

LOL ohhh Lynda I had to laugh at your comment ... thankyou!! :D Made me realise how hard I am being on myself lately. I am so desperate to get to goal that I feel any splurge will kill my weightloss. Here I am telling others that we have to be real, to live life and have the occasional treats yet at the same time I am whipping myself for doing just that! Good wake up call for me here!

As much as I was dreading going to my gym assessment last night I am now so glad I went!! Once I got there and starting doing it I absolutley loved it!! The look on the Personal Trainer's face when she saw my weight, was unforgettable!! She knew I hadn't been to the gym in over 6mths and I said that my exercise was very minimal during that time. And when I hoped on the scales it recorded a 15kg loss since my last assessment (9mths ago)... Her eyes popped out of her head and she was stunned for words ... "sssoooo? what the heck have you been doing then for the last six months to have a huge loss like that!!???" I just laughed. I told her that I have been doing weight watchers for the whole time and that while I haven't been doing gym stuff I was still eating healthy. "Wow, it's obviously working then" she said.

I told her I thought my fitness would have gone down tho (= blood pressure up and resting heart rate up) but to my surprise they were both down on last time too.

For the first six months at the gym I did 100% cardio with no weights because I didn't want to build muscle but just wanted to lose fat. Now I am finding I have flabby bits that need toning as well as lose more fat. So she's put me on a program of 50% cardio / 50% weights. It's been over 10yrs since I've done a weights workout and once I started the memories started flooding back!! The feelings of pushing myself till my muscles wouldn't work anymore. I just love that addrenaline feeling ... wow!!!

Just over 10yrs ago (before I met Bill when I was single and had all the time in the world) I was doing 6 days a week (2hrs a day) body building. This was when I was at goal the first time. I was building up to enter a body building competition. That was my 100% focus but of course I met Bill part way through and then the gym work went out the window. Suddenly I didn't have the time or commitment to my workouts anymore.. so I just stopped. I got so close to entering the competition but hey I figured if I couldn't give it 100% focus then there was no point. And I've never done weights since ... until last night that was ... and I LOVED IT!!! Was so good to be back again. This might be just the thing I needed to inspire me back into exercise.

Today I can feel those butt muscles again ... like I actually have some form to my body. I know one nights workout won't show on the outside yet but I can feel it from the inside ... wahooo!!

Let's hope I'm not too stiff for my next workout. I tried to stretch properly but with such a hard workout (I nearly couldn't finish all my reps) there's bound to be some muscles I've missed.

Jordan had his first day at kindy yesterday and loved it!! When I went to pick him up he was sitting at the very front of the mat 100% focused on the story the teacher was reading, there he was with his bag and hat, legs crossed, and arms folded ... tooo cute!!! This morning when I came out to the lounge here he was all dressed with his hat and bag ready to go again. Disapointment came when I told him he wasn't going till after lunch. I went to get him breakfast and he said "no!! I don't want breakfast ... I WANT LUNCH!!" LOL!! He is soooo cute some days!!

Here's my eating for yesterday before this post gets too long.

In yesterdays post I had only a minus 3pts balance at the end of the day but I changed that to minus 10 after remembering some food I forgot to record. So after the gym workout and my days eating I'm now back to minus 1.5pts ... not too bad. Although my scales are showing a gain today (I had a sneak preview) I'm hoping this is because of TOM and will disappear before weighin tomorrow ... here's hoping!!

Hmmm ... doesn't look too good. Probably won't effect weighin this week but might show up on next weeks results.

I have my gym assessment tonight. To be honest I'm not really looking forward to it. Not sure why. My plans of going to the gym when Jordan starts kindy (he starts today) has gone out the window because the creche at the gym only runs till 1pm (was going to put Jese in the creche while Jordan was at kindy so I could do my workout) and Jordan doesnt start kindy till 12.30pm. So looks like I'll be going in the evenings which doesn't really work out either with Bill's irregular hours at work. Kinda feel like I'm swimming against the tide on this one. I really think just walking with Jese in the pushchair on Jordan's kindy days will work out much better. But I have 5mths left on my gym membership so would hate to see it go to waste.

That's all from me today ... I'll let you know how my gym assessment goes tonight ... I'm so unfit now.
